Photography
Some photographers say that you need to specialize in a single field of photography as one cannot reach perfection otherwise. This may be true.
On the other hand, we consider ourselves travel photographers and thus need to cover every aspect of a place in order to visually convey its whole character and beauty. This includes impressions of people as well as food, landscape, and wildlife. One without the other does not paint the complete picture. Get some impressions of different fields under "Portfolio".
You can also view our photos sorted by destination under "Travel".

About Alegria
Ever since we got to visit and travel Brazil for the first time, this beautiful country has had a very special spot in our hearts. It was love at first sight. We lived in Brazil for months, speak the language, and explored more of this huge country than any of the locals we got to know. We got to see all the facets of this nation. The beauty and the violence, the good, the bad… and the ugly. We travelled from the biggest cities to the remotest lands, from the richest to the poorest of the poor.
And the one thing that impressed us the most was how these people go about their lives. We met people who live in shacks in the woods without running water or electricity and they were so full of delight and joy, so friendly towards us strangers coming from such a privileged world across the sea. We quickly came across a notion for this way of life and it really stuck with us: Alegria. When we were to create a brand for our photography it was clear that would be it. If you look it up in a Portuguese dictionary you may get many similar translations such as joy or happiness. But in Brazil, it means so much more. It’s a philosophy, the joy of life - it means to always carry a smile on your face against all odds and not worry about tomorrow. To see this was so inspiring and so very humbling. Happiness is indeed a choice, not a reaction to the circumstances.
